About Mel Monaco
“If you can’t be safe, be spectacular” is a phrase that sets the musical tone for Mel Monaco, a Canadian singer, songwriter, pianist, and guitarist born in Northern, Ontario. Influenced by her rhythmic dancing mother, and soulful singing and drumming father there is no doubt this broad mixture of creativity aided in the foundation of her musical fate. Having started out young on the stage, Mel was led to her artistic home and greatest passion- singing and song writing.

Continuing to develop her talents, Mel travels to find inspiration within the people and experiences she encounters. Inspired by the dark brassy notes of Amy Winehouse, the legendary stylings of Nina Simone, and talented songwriting of Paul Simon, Mel produces a contemporary blues pop rock sound enhanced by her unique alto voice that resonates from the depths of her soul; which can be heard through her diverse and unique compilations.

In 2010 Mel entered into the Moosetrax MooseFM Writers Competition, with her original song “Heartache”. Determined to write her music, in July of 2012 Mel released her first EP entitled “Anything Goes”. Continuing with its success, Mel released her first unplugged music video for “Like an Ocean” in January of 2014. Later, in July of 2014 Mel released the single “And Baby” accompanied by a full-length music video.
Mel takes on the world and learns from every experience she has turning them into lyrical memories… In the same year of 2014, having returned to the studio, Mel set out to record the CD “These Are Just Suggestions” released April 2015. Mel also set to work on her fourth music video for “Single Again”- 2016 Niagara Music Award “Music Video Of The Year”. The music video for “Single Again” was famously funded by the 2016 Mel Monaco Pin Up Calendar, a different piece of merchandise for Mel Monaco supporters.
Continuing with a successful 2017 of shows and releases, Mel’s latest release “Falling For The Third Time” dropped August 19, 2017. The first single from the album “Hold Me Back” accompanied by a full length music video, and this time- funded by the 2017 Mel Monaco Pin Up Calendar.
Raging into 2018, Mel Monaco just recently released her latest and greatest music video for “Untameable” the second single off the album “Falling For The Third Time”. Helping support it’s release was the 2018 Mel Monaco Motivational Calendar.
